Why do you care about what other people think about you? You have to
have a strong character, but be able to swallow your pride by moments.
Hell, I don't care if people don't like me. They may probably know me as
someone who goes on to the IRC channel and yell random song lyrics,
movie quotes or suddenly start telling stupid jokes. But I don't care if
they don't like me. And if a topic comes by that interests me I will try
to follow the discussion and participate in it with an acceptable
behaviour. Ofcourse when I push it too far with my, sometimes
questionable, song lyrics, people will get annoyed and notify someone
who has authority over the used channel to communicate.
About the caring part, no I wouldn't care if you left the bulletin board
or IRC channel. Like anyone would care if I step out the door right now.
But people do care more when the member has contributed, because maybe
later he/she will be missed when he/she could have been needed. Ofcourse
when you do stupid things, people will be most glad to see you leave.
Why people at school don't like you, that's probably because of the age
category you are in. I'm 18, and sure, in my class are some really
stupid people, or people I just don't like because they don't meet up
with my vision. Hell, I don't even like that ugly kid with that way
oversized mouth. But I respect them. I treat them like I would anybody
else. I accept them for who they are. Even if he/she has his/her own
ways, it's a free world. Everyone is free to do what he wants. One
condition though, they have to have a solid character. I hate people
who constantly jump from opinion to opinion. They're never the same from
one moment to another, constantly trying to blend in with what they
think is "normal". Those, I have little respect for.
Being a computer geek is nothing to be ashamed of. So what if you play
alot of games? Who cares you use linux because you think it's
architecture is better? Why would people mind you don't like sports? I
don't like sports either. Infact, just looking at sports just makes me
so tired.
