I'm not going to get into a rant about my opinions about this, but I
was wondering about offering a quick-ish suggestion...

I realise (of course) that when it comes down to it, it is Judd & co
that make this excellent distribution what it is and therefore it is
they who will decide what form this distribution will take. However,
in my opinion, it would be interesting to have some sort of a poll to
allow arch users (or at least those that read the mailing lists/browse
the forums and therefore know of the existence of said poll) to see
what the users would prefer. This would at least ensure that people
who feel the need to say that most users choose Arch either because of
or in spite of the lack of documentation/info files will at least have
some basis for their claims. Might be worth having separate
buttons/polls for /usr/share/info and /usr/share/doc and including a
don't care option. For example, my vote would be "don't care" for the
former and "include it" for the latter.

If this is done, I think (in the present climate) that it would be
worth including a disclaimer along the lines of (please note that the
results of this poll may well have absolutely no effect on the future
of the distribution as that is up to the people who make it!).

Just my tuppence,

Al
