What's more important is that it launches the e-d-s daemon which sucks
up the memory. Right, Jan? :-)

Getting entirely rid of e-d-s (i.e. not have to install it) is probably
harder (and even harder in the future, a bunch of projects are starting
to use it for things such as getting the real name of the user -
previously done in the common UNIX fashion, but now through e-d-s which
in turn does it in the common UNIX fashion...)

+1 for spending memory on better things :-)
