/etc/X11/xorg.conf fixes:

If mouse isn't working, change:
Option "Protocol" "auto"
to
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"

If keyboard isn't working, change:
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
to
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"

That should help out.
