If someone wants the package stability inherent in Slackware, they will (essentially) not find that here in Arch Linux. Or in specific terms the level of stability that is in the stable versions of Arch can be a downside to some. (Such stability issues in Arch usually do not bother me, but I also do not use Arch for anything other than desktop usage.) It might also be worth mentioning that people have been drawn to staying with Slackware while adding dependency management (via various add-on methods,) for several/many years now. While adding pacman support via repos and such is just as good as anything else, the nature of how pacman works would be a big plus to these folks IMnsHO. So far I think the fit of a pacman/Slackware would be better than the solutions offered so far, or at least the ones I am familiar with. Anyways, it is not hard for me to imagine such a thing, although you would end up with J. Rubens' distro model anyhow; which is to say that Rubix is worth a look for the folks looking to do this sort of modification to Slackware.
