1) try to build them yourself and install them seeing what will 
break... and i'm quite sure something will break in this cases:

python i'm not sure of the changes, but openssl means usually, that 
all dependeneces will be needed to be rebuild to work again... this 
means, you cannot just like that update it without checking... or 
actually, we can, but then the community will be quite angry because 
all things that depend on openssl [1] will not work any more.
