dunno about the athlon64, but reports say it is faster.
i got the normal intel cooler on it, and in idle mode it is kinda  
silent. As soon a i put load on it, the fans start running,
i do not think they produce a lot of heat, never really looked at  
it ;) cpufreq stuff is great to keep your system silent while you  
hardly do anything :)
