Hello everyone! I just realised that I had completely neglected this thread! My name is Andrea Zerbini and I am research associate in the Endangered Archaeology in the Middle East and North Africa project based at the University of Oxford. I have taken over from Richard Jennings in his role as IT developer of the project's Arches installation. We are using Arches to chart damage and threat to archaeological sites across the MENA region. Our database currently holds 97,000 sites of cultural heritage significance, spread across 12 of the 20 countries of the MENA region.
I am currently finishing up work on a set of modifications to the code that will make our platform fully bilingual (english and arabic) - see my other threads on these matters. Next one up is a substantial revision of the editing permissions to create a hierarchy of access that will allow for users to be only allowed to edit records within a given geographical area. Happy coding everyone!
