Just adding an update on this.

Firstly, we are struggling to make any progress because an upgrade to
Arches v4 is currently being considered by our project team. If that goes
forward, it appears that this would be a non-starter as the database in v4
might be stored in such a peculiar way that it would make it very difficult
to use for anything other than the Arches application.

Problems also seem to arise with v3. The fact that the Postgres database
permissions system is completely separate from the Django permissions that
Arches uses has been judged to be a problem for setting up any regular QGIS
interface that could be widely used.

Does anybody know if it is possible to set up Web feature service WFS with
Arches v4 in order to allow easy spatial interrogation in a GIS software
package such as QGIS. Are there any plans to get something like this up and
running?

Best wishes,

Matt
