As long as you've enabled email sending, and entered any necessary account information for your own sending account, you should be able to send from the Send queue. There are, however, a couple of issues related to sending to an email address from the Send queue.
First, it's intended only for sending to another Ariel user, not an end-user. The scans will always be sent in tif format, with three files attached to the email: a machine-readable GEDI header, a DOCINFO.TXT header, and the document itself (taken directly from the user's guide at http://www4.infotrieve.com/ariel/ARIELusers-3_4.pdf). If you send this way to an end-user, you should warn them ahead of time that the file will be in tif, not pdf format. If you want to send as a pdf attachment, use Send To Patron. Second, the Sent status in the Send queue is set on the basis of a response from the receiving machine. This response is received in the course of the FTP "conversation" between the two machines. When you email there is no such response, so the status will never change to Sent, even if the email is picked up by another Ariel setup. The best you can do to ensure that they received the document is to check the request status, either directly in WorldCat Resource Sharing or indirectly through your ILL management software.
