yes, i totally agree with Krishh. what is our contribution for ARR? In this group we have more than 8000 members, fans of ARR but yet we saying Harris, Yuvan, Himesh are No. 1 n soever..i feel ashamed of this. We are all over the world but still cant do anything about this..I've read an article saying that "He has sold more albums than the Eagles' "Greatest Hits 1971-75" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" combined -- more than 100 million worldwide. He has scored more than 50 movies and two plays.He has sold more than 100 million copies of albums comprising of music from more than 50 movies. Since then, he has gone on to win the National Award 3 more times (for Minsaara Kannavu, Lagaan and Kannathil Muthamittal ), the most ever by any music composer. Apart from this, Rahman has won 17 filmfare awards (the Indian equivalent of the Oscars), 3 MTV awards, 4 IIFA awards, 6 TamilNadu state awards, 6 Zee awards, 4 screen awards and lots more. He has also been conferred the prestigious ‘Padmashree' award by the Government of India in the year 2000 for outstanding contribution to the Indian film industry. And it brings to a mainstream audience the astounding musical talent of AR Rahman, the 36-year-old "Asian Mozart" from Madras who has sold more records than Madonna and Britney Spears combined.”

These are facts about our Boss but what happen now. Dont say his music is outdated or not good or Yuvan, harris is good n soever. I just hate it when people say that ARR is techno and is all electronic music and does not know about melody ...14 years ..150-200 millions albums ...4 national awards and 17 filmfare awards is not a joke. If this is the scenario years back why cant we bring back that glory to our Boss...some suggestions are here:
 
1. STOP CRITICSING ARR N HIS MUSICS IN OUR GROUP. WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF ALL THE SONGS THAT HE HAD COMPOSED N WILL COMPOSE. IM SURE THERE SOME CULPRITS IN OUR GROUP WHO ARE OTHER MD'S FANS BUT JUST PURPOSELY REGISTERED IN OUR GROUP N START TO SAY ALL THE BAD THINGS ABOUT HIS MUSICS N COMPARING ARR WITH OTHERS...WE SHOULD STOP THIS FIRST N TRY TO PROMOTE OUR FAN GROUP IN A BIGGER RANGE. WHEN 1 START TO TLK BAD, ALL OF US ALSO WILL DO THAT WITHOUT KNOWING THE IMPLICATIONS. SO STOP THAT FIRST.
 
2. IF POPLE TALK BAD ABOUT ARR N HIS MUSIC EITHER IN OUR GROUP OR ANY OTHER FORUMS IN OTHER WEBSITES, TAKE PART N DEFEND OUR BOSS. IF WE DIDNT DO THAT, IT SEEMS WE HAVE NO IDEA OR LOSING INTEREST IN HIM. BUT TALK WITH POINTS N PROOF. LET OTHERS TO SHUT THEIR MOUTH N STOP COMPARING. WE THE ONE WHO SHOULD DEFEND HIM AS A FANS. LOOK RAJNI'S FANS, AJITH FANS..WE SHOULD BE UNITE FOREVER N PLEASE DONT TALK BAD AMONG OUR GROUPS.
 
3. STOP DOWNLOADING ARR SONGS FROM WEBSITES. THIS WILL INITIALLY PULL DOWN THE SALES OF HIS ALBUMS. BUY THE ORIGINAL CASSETTES, CD'S N DVD'S. IMAGINE IF ALL THE 8000 FAN BUY HIS ALBUMS ALL OVER THE WORLD..WHAT WILL HAPPEN? SURELY THE SALES WILL INCREASE. BUY N LISTENS FIRST. ONE FOR HSE, 1 FOR CAR OR ETC. THEN U DOWNLOAD TO UR PC TO LISTEN TO IT.
 
4. TAKE PART IN THE POLLS THAT CONDUCTED BY FORUMS IN WEBSITES OR IN RADIOSTATIONS OR TV STATIONS IN ANY WAY. I REMEMBER THERE ARE SOMEONE WHO GAVE A LINK TO MALAYSIA N SINGAPORE RADIO STATIONS WHICH IS CONDUCTING TOP 10 SONGS OF THE WEEK N REQUESTD TO US TO VOTE FOR GF SONGS BUT HOW MANY OF US DID THAT? IF WE HAVE DONE IT, SURE THE SONGS WILL BE NO. 1 IN THE CHARTS BUT THATS NOT THE CASE HERE. WHY? IS IT SO HARD FOR US TO CLICK THE LINK N VOTE FOR THE SONGS? MAKE THE SONGS BE NO.1 N THE RADIO STATIONS WILL PLAY IT MORE OFTENLY. SURE PEOPLE WILL LIKE IT. EVEN MY MUM SAYING THAT HIS MUSIC IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT N SHE LIKES IT. SO PLEASE TAKE PART.
 
5. WATCH THE MOVIES THAT ARR HAD SCORED THE MUSIC IN THE THEATRES ONLY FIRSTLY. GO N WATCH MORE OFTEN TO ENJOY HIS MUSIC. IF WE DO SO..THE THEATRE OWNERS WILL MAKE IT RUN MORE LONGER IF THE RESPONSE IS GOOD. AFTER SOME TIME GO N BUT DVD'S OR VCD'S..IT ALSO HELP TO BOOST THE SALES.
 
6. IF HERE IN OUR GROUP, WE HAVE FANS WHO ARE WORKING IN RADIOSTATION OR TV STATIONS, MAKE A PROGRAMME WHICH WILL HIGHLIGHTS ARR SONGS, ACHIEVEMENTS N UPCOMING EVENTS. THESE WILL HELP PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC MORE OFTEN. PLEASE PEOPLE LIKE U ALL PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN THIS PART. SAME GOES ALSO TO PRESS MEDIA PEOPLE IF ANY.
 
7. IF THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO IS CLOSE TO OUR BOSS TRY TO RECOMMEND OUR THOUGHTS (GOOD ONE) WHAT WE'RE EXPECTING FROM HIM FORNOW. WE R EXPECTING SONGS LIKE IN BOMBAY, ROJA, THIRUDA-THIRUDA, BOYS, JEANS, DUET, KHADAL DESAM, KHADALAN, INDIAN, MUTHU, GENTLEMAN, IRUVAR, KHADAL THINAM N MANY MORE. IF ANYBODY CLOSE TO HIM OR EVEN CLOSE TO HIS CLOSE PEOPLE, SAY THIS.
 
8. STOP COMPARING ARR WITH YUVAN, HARRIS, HIMESH OR IR. THIS IS NOT HEALTHY FOR OUR GROUP. I THINK A LOYAL N GENUINE FAN WONT DO THAT. IM SUSPECTING THERE ARE CULPRITS IN OUR GROUP. IF WE FANS ALSO START TO COMPARE, THEN THESE PEOPLE WILL FIND IT AS WEAK POINT OF OUR GROUP N START TO ADD MORE TO MAKE IT LOOKS LIKE REALLY BAD. SO STOP DO THAT, N IF ANY, DEFEND OUR BOSS. WE SHOULD BE UNITE AS 1 FAMILY.
 
Im wondering why, if there is ARR's concerts, the number of people turn up can easily reach thousands in one place but when comes to sales we cant even compare to yuvan's n harris. where are others? Please if we all come up n be united, we will a big family of ARR who unites just for one man, music all over the world. Please forward this to all of ARR's fans so that we can realize its not too late yet to be a part of ARR music where we can contribute without just talking n share some ideas in this forum only. Make arrangements to meet other fans from the same place n share some ideas, do meetings be a profesional fans to deliver the best to the best. Meet, talk n organize an event to meet all the fans (if possible, but nothing is impossible) n maybe can invite ARR to launching new group or any other events that we think can share an idea. Please guys, wake up n do something for the great musician as a big family. Create wonders by being the largest fan group or other things that make our Boss proud with us. Please share ur thought on this. Thanks n sorry for a long talk. cheer up guys. bubbye.

About the sales of cds and piracy, its a valid point. And yes,
internet and p2p and such sources have made it easier to get anything
easily than waiting for the the album to appear in the near by shops. 

Now about the numbers -  the fact is, arr does not have to participate
in this rat race to become number one. numbers are for ppl who are
insecure, who are afraid of failure and are mediocre.

arr is beyond that. he promotes india and the message of peace and
charity for which it always stands for.

And it is not the numbers and positions, but the music that will be
remembered after years from now. Remember roja?  he was "NOTHING" when
the film was released, he was not bearing any prefixes like - genius,
wizkid, mozart of madras or what so ever.

Now, i don't think we have to face anything or feel hurt because arr
is not Number 1. Because I am sure a lot of fans among us does not
believe in this numbers.

I hope everyone will change and start to accept and appreciate all the
good music.
