Thanks for a lucid justification of why you like it and how you evaluate it.
Yes, it's different from the sound-heavy approach that a number of the action
flicks tend to favor and there's certainly a degree of novelty with the fusion
of electronica, hip-hop, pop and 'Bollywood'.
I will agree with Gomzy though, that there are a number of films where the
music isn't hampered much by sound effects. Action movies on the other hands
are a different monster.
And of course, ARR's works have always been strong on melody (though I felt
that the SdM score isn't always steeped in it-- It was pacy/edgy).

Hi RR

Hollywood music in movies ( of late ) is predominantly sound effects rather
than music. There is a huge difference between music and sound effects as we
all understand ...

The fact that ARR tried to bring music into SDM rather than sound effects and
punctuated the whole movie with it along with very strong intervals of silence
, makes me think SDM is ideal candidate for a nomination and a BIG win

This is what i love abt SDM in terms of its BGM's , Sound track and Music
        * Music rather than sound effects
        * New sound ( Hollywood is hearing a completely different style in SDM
, so far apart from the regular winners ) ( ARR has done the traditional
hollywoodish score in Queen E )
        * And the intelligent use of melody throughout the movie.
