I am trying to understand.
you are saying new age music and you are asking him to use veteran singers, go
for traditional and sufi albums.
If you observe his work carefully what AR has done so far was in itself on par
with new age music. I would say he had a parallel approach. He was a trend
setter and others followed it as a new music.
I wouldn't say he shouldnt use senior singers but he can give more opportunity
to budding talents. Bcs they also should grow and a work with AR can boost
their career to greater heights. Seniors wouldn't need AR but the juniors
definitely need him.
A best example is the Delhi 6 which is the latest. Now the music producers are
probably scambling their old records and say "oops what did we miss, he just
used what ever was available and still did something very different" .
And none of the complete instrumental albums are doing good these days so if an
album so produced and if god forbid not that it fails in commercial gain it
will be a huge set back.
Remember AR now has set a own competition to himself and the world is watching.
Expectation on him has gone sky limits. You can compete with others but not
with your own self. Now He has to be more than careful while chosing the
projects.
Awards bring glory but also a great responsibility and expectation.
