Hey Ranjit, naveen and all who agree with them....

I think you are over reacting. I agree that being a fan SHOULD mean being
critical. Infact very few artists have an intelligent fan base as AR Rahman
has.
Most fan groups have a prejudice that the product would by default be good and
they will struggle hard to accept a sub standard product from their idols.

This fan group of rahman is by far the largest and most united in many ways.
Even Rahman knows it. So an average product has been criticized. Blue OST
was criticized by many accomplished people here in this very group to be
average. The sound was poor and music was....kind of a let down.

However, i do believe this fan base is yet to mature to a stage where we can
start influencing Rahman's decisions/directions. Something like say Metallica
fans are or GNR fans do. But then thats fine. Rahman has a set of rules by
which
he decides. And i am sure he know whats being talked in this group. So he might
just register your email!...

Now..... i get this at times that Rahman's post oscar work is..' not upto the
mark'. Well you never know, most of the post oscar releases would have
been conceived during pre-Oscar days! So that argument goes out of the window.

You are welcome to pass judgements. If Puli sucks for you...thats fine and you
still are a fan. I still can't play the entire CD of Slumdog, what with all the
awards stuck to it. I am still a fan.

Yes there are some awesome music directors out there and one must give them a
chance. They do what the people want. This is a quick fire way to survive.
Someone else would come and replace. With Rahman, he gives whats correct and
people eventually start to accept and that creates a lot of stickiness of fans.
This is why he lasted this long and will last as #1 untill he retires.

Puli is certainly not that bad as you portrayed. Its actually super energetic
and does not require intellectual processing as Raavan(an) needed. Give
yourself
sometime with the music. If you still dont like it....thats fine. The next one
is just round the corner.

And ya...when you say 'true fan'....buy the disc. Not MP3.

And trust me...i am too kind of like you. Few albums i just dont like and many
folks agree on a one to one basis that a specific track was poor .

regards

WB
