** I guess this is not completely true; if the manufacturer does not support the product anymore, BMC will not too. For instance, when Microsoft dropped support for NT4, Remedy won't support it either, even though it used to be in the compatibility matrix for some versions.
It does not work the other way around, only recently microsoft dropped support for Win98 and WinME. Before that, microsoft still did support those versions, but Remedy did not.

AFAIK, v7 clients will only be supported on Windows XP.
The line from the cmdb manual will be a mistake, i guess.

That brings up an interesting point....If you look in the CMDB 2.0 User
guide (Accessing the CMDB console), on page 10, it says:

"On Windows 2000, choose Start > Programs > Action Request System > BMC
Remedy User."

Though I do remember BMC saying that they were going to be dropping
support for Windows 2000.  Now I'm not sure what to believe...
