Somebody recently (circa 3 or 4 months ago) posted an excellent article that did a side-by-side comparison of all the various ITSM/Help Desk type products. You might be able to search the list archives to find it. I'm not sure of its complete impartiality, as the article was trumpeted on (but not written by) BMC's site.

comparative study done on BMC Remedy

specially ITSM with its nearest competitors such as HP and CA.
It will be quite helpful for me if I could get the document, which I can
present to one of my potential client where I am
currently having a debate
kind of situation on why
Remedy should be prefered on HP and CA.
