Rick:
Yes, ITSM 6 will run on ARS 6.3 and ARS 7.0. However, CMDB 2.0 is not compatable with ITSM 6.0. That was what confused me. I think that Dave is talking about installing:
ARS 7.0
Approval Engine for ITSM 7.0
Assignment Engine for ITSM 7.0
CMDB 2.0
Incident Management 7.0
and so on.
The process breaks at the install of Incident Management 7.0.
And, yes, the server MUST be licensed in order to install CMDB and ITSM 7.0.

Also remember that licensing must be in place for a CMDB install of any version. The ITSM 6 suite will run just fine on ARS 7.

Subject: ARS 7.0 Install
Hello List,
I have been trying to install an instance of ARS 7.0 and the full ITSM suite on HPUX with an Oracle Database. Ive tried a few clean installs without any luck. Here are the steps I have taken so far:
Installed ARS 7.0 w/email and flashboards CMDB 2.0 Approval Engine Assignment Engine.
Everything works fine up to this point.
I install Incident management and granted it takes about 3 hours to install on a 4 processor box with plenty of RAM, it always fails to install correctly. It seems from the logs that it fails to import a whole lot of forms, but when I go to look for the forms it failed to import and try to re-import them I Am missing a SYS: Menu form, which I can't find anywhere.
Ive tried multiple times from a clean install and have had no luck. Has anyone else had trouble with this? Database is set to autoextend every 5mb with a max of 2gb. So it isnt an issue of space or permissions.
Also is anyone running ITSM 6.0 apps on a 7.0 server without any problems?
Thanks in advance,
Dave
