You definitely need CMDB before Asset, etc. because it's a pre-req. It's also a good idea to load Asset next because you can verify that the CMDB extensions got loaded ok before you continue on with the next install. If for some reason the CMDB extensions don't autoload (they should), then you'll see a boatload of AST related errors in the Asset install logs and you need to backtrack to fix that problem before you go forward. Speaking of which... (I'm sure you already know this), but when I do this, I take a db backup after each and every step so that I have the ability to go back to "pre-CMDB" or "pre-Incident" if one of the installs fails. You don't want to have to start over.

Note that the DSL load will cause whatever install you allow it to occur with to take much longer (hours), so if you're running an install as the last task of the day and plan to leave it running overnight, that would be a good choice for leaving the "load dsl" box checked.
Good luck,

Based on a document I have from Professional Services:

ARS 7
Clients
Approval
Assignment
CMDB
Mid-Tier
Asset w/o DSL
Incident w/o DSL
Problem
Change w/o DSL
SLM
Import DSL

I usually do email between Assignment & CMDB.

Hope that helps.
