Jason,

I think you could turn on Server Statistics and give your users enough
access to the form/data to check the following fields:

'Number of Current Users'
'Fixed Write Lic Connections'
'Floating Write Lic Connections'
'Read Only Lic Connections'
'Floating Write Token Denied'

Then you have to make a few decisions.

1) Since Floating tokens are only taken "when the user needs them" it
is possible to have more users connected than you have floating
license, but not have all floating license in use at that instant.

2) The above might be true the second the user logins in and you do
the checks, but it might not be true even one second later.

3) Server Statistics are an "interval" thing and the counts could be
minutes old. (And thus could be misleading to a user.) However the
best you really can do is an advisory indicating that there are "N"
floating tokens that might be available at this time.

Or...( This would likely be much more work. )

You could opt to turn on the User Log file and write a process to
watch that file. That should allow your process to know with 100%
accuracy how many floating tokens are in use at the moment. Then your
workflow could ask your process for the count of currently available
license.

Roger,

I know that. But still want to check if there is available floating license
on login. We should change the message to "There is no available remedy
floating license right now, you won't be able to modify a ticket but you can
create new ticket."

Right now the remedy error message says, you don't have permission to the
field, that field..That's confusing. Guess we want to let people know before
they try to modify a ticket.

Thanks,

When you are logging in the system does not look for a write license and
only on save is one required. If the user was entering a new ticket it still
would not require a write license.

Hello Listers,

Is it possible to display the following alert message when an user is
logging in?

"There is no available remedy floating license right now, please try again
later."

Has anyone done anything similar?

TIA,
