Meta-Update will migrate an ITSM 6 to ITSM 7 now. No need to install anything on either Remedy application. You can run it on one of the servers or on a Windows box. The migration comprises a series of scripts to transfer the data correctly. Tailoring for individual fields, values, class, relationship changes is very quick and easy. Consider the ITSM 7 permissions / users: With Meta-Update, you simply loop on the group id field value list creating records for groups as needed whilst you are creating the User and CTM:People records. Consider the diary fields of ITSM 6. With Meta-Update you loop on those diary field values creating the records for ITSM 7 with the correct date and user for each diary entry. With Meta-Update, you issue an SQL to pre-load the product catalogue from the existing ITSM 6 CI record set. There is no export / import. Meta-Update makes connections to both servers, reads from one and updates appropriate records in the other. During the process, any mapping / value / schema / class transformations are applied. Records can be updated carrying the correct modification / creation user ids and dates. CTIs are adjusted along the way. Check it out: www.softwaretoolhouse.com Meta-Update is now supported by N-Tuition www.ntuition.de as ARS Easy Script. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or N-Tuition.
