Not so glaringly obvious, at least with the version of Crystal I work with.
I imagine most come across this when working with Crystal. I know of three
ways around it, none of which are particularly good.

1. Use the min and max functions against the data extracted by Remedy
and pass these to the sub reports.

2. Use Crystal parameters to prompt for the date range again and pass
the parameters to the sub reports. OK approach if you are the only one
running it but would hate to distribute to anyone else.

3. Have a Remedy dialog prompt for the date range and push the
parameters to a form. Have Crystal read this form and pass the parameters to
the sub reports. Could also join the form against your main form and have
crystal pass the parameters from the join.

That's the best I could come across with. Interested in hearing other
alternatives.

Subject: Remedy & Crystal (Date Range & Sub Reports)

I have an issue with Remedy reporting for which I am sure there is a
glaringly obvious solution...

I have created a Crystal Report which has a number of sub-reports within
it which use varying selections via the selection expert function within
Crystal. As a stand-alone report it functions without issue.

I have uploaded the report as a report definition file (.rpt) into the
Report form on my Remedy server. In the form I have specified that the
report is a 'Date Rage Report' and selected 'Yes' to the 'Override Query
in Report?' setting.

When I run the report from the Report Console using the date range
criteria the report runs but it would appear that the date range set via
remedy is only enforced on the main report and not the sub-reports. [The
problem].

Is it possible to use the report console date range criteria with sub
reports in a crystal report uploaded to the report form?

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Regards
