All I can really contribute to this conversation is that I absolutely 100% hate the CMDB. It makes adding fields to the asset records a real PITA! In an environment where we have all been used to being able to customize to the needs of our organizations, this is cumbersome and clunky. It drags the system down and has taken a process that was clean and simple and complicated it to the extent that in some cases you probably would be better off having someone from PS come assist. BUT, would they know what they are doing and be able to do it any better than I can? I dunno! I'm just not sure why it's taking so long for them to tell us how to do the conversion/mapping. Now they have to come up with a way that ITSM 6 can work with CMDB 2.0.X -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 5:23 PM Subject: Re: CMDB 2.01 supported with Helpdesk 6.0 Application? ** It certainly does seem to be taking an inordinate amount of time. It's been months since it was most recently promised. How long does it take to create export/import maps and procedures for two sets of data tables for products which they created? I'm no longer believing anything I'm told on this until I see it. It was quite a popular topic at the time, but BUW was around 5 - 6 months ago right? It has been in progress for an incredibly long time now...... ________________________________ From: Easter, David [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, 25 January 2007 2:58 AM Subject: Re: CMDB 2.01 supported with Helpdesk 6.0 Application? ** CMDB 2.0 with ITSM 6.0 is not officially supported. As mentioned, BMC is currently taking the necessary steps to officially enable the use of ITSM 6.0 with CMDB 2.0.1. I do not have an expected date for when this will be completed - only the information that it is currently in progress. Thanks, -David J.
