Port mapper listens on 111. If you open that on your load balancer it should work. You don't need to use the port mapper if you specify the app port in your client(12300, etc). Portmapper is only used when the client doesn't know the port. It uses the port mapper to look it up. Portmapper is nice when you have clients that do the configuration. It is one less setting for them to mess up.
