Hello List,
This message is aimed at anyone currently using Remedy Knowledge
Management (RKM) --> Tony, Chris???.
We've recently moved our baseline (e.g. operational) Webserver to the
DMZ. We opened a couple holes in the firewall to allow the Webserver to
communicate with the Remedy App server and Database servers (both of
which are in our internal network).
While we can successfully login to Remedy via the MidTier on this web
server, any attempts at performing RKM functions which require
authentication fail.
We've got RKM set up for Remedy authentication. Prior to moving to the
DMZ, everything worked great. After the move, RKM actions which don't
require authentication work (e.g. accessing the RKM login page,
performing queries) but other things which require authentication (e.g.
authoring, accessing your home page, etc.) fail.
I enabled RKM debugging and upped the log level to the max. I checked
the ServletExec logs and noted an RPC bind error being thrown by the RKM
app, stating it couldn't connect to Remedy.
Any idea of what ports/protocols need to be open for this to work.
The BMC installation/config guide seems to be lacking in this area.
