Bala, hum....
From ARS workflow (Filters or Active Links) you could could run a
script on your ARS server to take a string as input and return the MD5 value for that string. Something as simple as Perl should be able to get that job done easily. You might also look for a Javascript MD5 script too. Google spit this one out in the top 3 links: http://pajhome.org.uk/crypt/md5/md5src.html However a Javascript solution would likely only work for the Mid-tier. (So If this also has to work for the User Tool, then I would look toward your ARS server.) Now if your using v7... then I would also give a serious look at a simple DVF (Data Visualization Field) too. That would be Java that I am sure could be used to pass a string in and get the MD5 value back. Hi, I'm not very familiar with Remedy, pardon me if this is a very basic question. I'm trying to find out if this is possible with Remedy/mid- tier. We generate a URL on a Remedy mid-tier screen that links to an external applet/application. Is it possible to append to this URL a dynamically generated MD5 hash of let's say a field in the DB? Is this even do-able? If so, how can one accomplish this? We use Remedy mid- tier with Oracle. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bala
