I envy you, Claire. Doing nothing in my opinion would have been better
in this case. Applying a patch to production that had only been
released 10 days before with only a few days to test in DEV is a risk
that I don't care to take again.

My trust level for the BMC Remedy patches is simply not there anymore.
If it were up to me, I think it will be a long time coming before we
apply any ARSERVER patches.

The Patch 21 file replacement method on a server that was less than P19
failed miserably with a server that wouldn't come up. We had to back
out and run the installer. Not something I wanted to do since as
mentioned in a post last month, up to 44 forms were updated. This of
course included the stripping of permissions on the User and Group
forms.

I do apologize to everyone for sounding so negative, lately....I'm just
plain tired.

Ok, so I did NOTHING. I made no changes, added no patches (I am sure
this will bite me some time down the road) and everything worked as it
was supposed to work.

The time changed on the server, the time changed in Remedy, the time was
correct on my tickets and the escalations worked as they should have.

The end result... I lose an hour of sleep in the morning, the dogs gain
an hour of daylight for the park after work!

Well I hope everyone's testing went as well as mine. I found NO adverse
results in my testing. We have basic Remedy/HelpDesk application usage
and our main concern was business time calculations. I also looked at
historical data and found no adverse results.

I'm a happy camper!
