David, what if you don't have the ARS installation CDs? If I download ARS 7.0.1 from BMC support, does the server installer include the SearchServer?
I had also submitted a ticket to support, and this is support's reply, which again contradicts yours IMHO: You will need to install the hummingbird before you install the FTS. You will also need to license the Hummingbird through the vendor (http://www.hummingbird.com/support/dkm/registration.html) The hummingbird has their package with their installer. Please, call hummingbird customer support and tell them what you are trying to do. They will provide you all the necessary information about hummingbird including the installation. Therefore, when you download AR System from the BMC website, you get the Hummingbird SearchServer. You would not go to the Hummingbird web site.
