Andy, There are a number of very good places to eat within walking distance. I don't recall the names at the moment, but anyone at EMS can tell you. There is a Starbucks two blocks away. I was there recently for the Admin 3 class as well. There is a lot of construction on the main street so you will need to detour around their building.
One thing that is amazing at EMS's training room is the view... 10 stories up overlooking the beach. The weather has been in the low 80's recently and lots of sun.
