List, We are seeing the same issue as Girish. I do not believe this problem is related to the Preference Server- we were on 4.5 until last September, and we had been having this issue for at least 1 year prior to that. After upgrading, we still see the issue. We just started using the Preference Server, but this has not affected the frequency of the issue. What we did notice was that our users that are on XP have never seen this issue at all. Our users on WIN2K have this problem frequently (as many as 3 times in an hour). We aren't sure the OS is the key though, as our XP Users don't use Remedy as much. As well, we've noticed that this occurs 95% of the time when an Active Link's "Set Fields" action is run (maybe there is something in the AL and this is only a coincidence). Girish, Do your XP users have this problem as well? Is it occurring when specific actions are taken? Shawn Stonequist EMNS, Inc.

This is where I have seen this problem, if I do that I can expect the user tool to crash as soon as I would go to save any thing. I think this could be a bug of some sort. Hi, We are getting an error message : AR System User application has encountered a problem and needs to be closed. We are sorry for the inconvenience. This error will close the session and we have to start a new session. The OS on the desktop is :WIN XP/WIN 2K. This is not happening to all users. Its only struck our FLS team. The instances are not same. This could happen during any stage of logging a incident/a click on any menu. There is no problem in logging. Its only after that. Hi All, We have recently started facing this problem with the User tool. It seems like the whole of our FLS is caught with the same problem were the User tool session ends abruptly. The Error says: The AR System User Application has encountered a problem and needs to be closed. We have tried to use an latest patch update User installation. But doesn't solve the problem. The User tool version presently used is 5.1.2 patch 1303. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Regards, Girish.
