All,

BMC support checked the install with me using webex and recommended several
things. The last recommendation was the one which worked, although I did
not believe it will do a lot. They asked me to burn a copy of the
installation files on a CD and install from the CD.

I did not have access to a CD at the time therefore we created an ISO image
and mounted it...and it worked!!!

There is a similar issue mentioned in the release notes however the
workaround mentioned doesn't work. They also recommended installing SLM
7.0.3, however I didn't do that....

Another defect that was found is that the .html file was empty...it is
resolved in 7.0.3 again...

I asked that they try and never use Install shield on solaris again, and
instead use the good ol' CLI :)

Thanks for everyone who helped....

Regards
Emad

Emad,

Probably time to check the license and make sure the information is in
sync with the main AR Server license. If the host name or some other
information does not match the AR Server license information it is very
likely that the license is not a valid license and is not being validated at
the time the license file is being read.

** Hi,
I am installing SLM 7.0 Patch 2, using the GUI provided on Solaris (I am
using Hummingbird). I get at a stage where the installation can't detect the
SLM License and the dev mode cache and it terminates the installation. Has
anyone faced this before? Is there a different installation method?

Regards,
Emad
