Quick thoughts: Since your ARS server is Windows based you have the opportunity to communicate with Outlook via OLE and I even think there is a way through ODBC. There are some Perl modules that can communicate with Outlook or you could write something using .NET or VB that could be linked via OLE.
However, I might pursue this a little further and take Norms approach and see if Remedy cannot become the source for this data. On 6/18/07, Kaiser Norm E CIV USAF 96 CS/SCCE <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Do the Outlook calendars have to remain as they are? Or could you re-create the calendars in Remedy? If you can re-create the calendar functionality in Remedy I would think about creating each day/on call person as a separate record in the database and then display the entire on call schedule as a table. -----Original Message----- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Sanford, Claire Sent: Monday, June 18, 2007 2:06 PM To: [email protected] Subject: On-Call Routing - How to???? Here is my fun project... Any ideas??? We have 28 different On-Call Calendars in Outlook. Rather than having the Support Center Staff look at the calendars all day long to determine who is on-call, our management wants me to build something in Remedy that can look at the calendars and let the SC Staff know who is on call for each group.
