Hi,

I checked all these settings. All are fine. User 'aradmin' has ownership
on related directory structure. SNMP settings with 161 are also fine. Env
variable is also correct..LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc.. all are looking fine. Even
there is no pid file in server directory. But the problem is still there.

Regards,

Tarun

Make sure you change all of the file permissions before running with a
non-root user. When you run as root or install as root, the permissions will
be wrong.

chown -R aradmin /usr/ar /etc/arsystem

Also, arsnmpd can't run using the default SNMP port (161) when it's not
run by root.

Note: Replace SERVER with your system's name

In /etc/arsystem/SERVER/armonitor.conf

/usr/ar/SERVER/bin/arsnmpd -f -c /usr/ar/SERVER/conf/arsnmpd.conf udp:161

Another thing to verify is the environment variables. You may not be
setting them correctly. Either update the arsystem startup script or add
your own to configure every environment variable that you want/need to run

Hi Rick,

I have already checked for all. They are fine. In fact if I start arsystem
by 'root' then it is starting all services including plugin also. But when
trying with 'aradmin' it is not starting.

Thanks & regards,

Tarun

Tarun,

Many plugins require an entry in the ar.conf file, pointing to the correct
directory. Check your docs to ensure that you've gotten all of those.

Hello,

We are using ARS 6.3 with SunOS 5.9 with Java 1.4.2_05.

When we are starting arsystem by 'root' login, all services are running
fine. But we are getting an error while we are trying to start arsystem by
using login as 'aradmin'. It is starting all required services except
'arplugin'. When it is trying to start plugin it gives error like this:

I think it can be permission issue to some folder or file may be related
to Java but do not know the exact name. I have already checked permissions
for arsystem, lck, conf and plugin files. All are looking fine for user
'aradmin'. Please share if some one has an idea about the solution of this
error.

Thanks & Regards,

Tarun
