Use google mail with a filter that puts all arslist mail in a folder.  Then
because the way the mail is automatically grouped (for the most part) it is
easy to follow a conversation or skip a conversation.

I do keep alot of list mail but occasionally when the mood requires I'll
clean out old mail that I haven't chosen to read.

Easy to search.
