I think you can get rid of the BC using some text-editing technique (I've seen someone post on the list how to do it), but I do agree it is useless. I've had customers click it thinking it meant Business Continuance for some reason.
I would imagine, maybe, if you used remedy to track fossils or something, then the BC field might be used in a date field describing from when the dinosaur came, however, I think that date fields can only go back so far, and doubt they can go back to 40,000,000 yrs ago.
