Daniel, Extensions sound good. ( Which I will assume means Eclipse plugin development based on a published interface from the new Admin Tool. Er... "ARS Developers Studio"?)
However what I think would be very, very cool for BMC to do is draw the thick line at the API layer and let us into the Client layer. They have to control and maintain the API. However it has always been possible for someone to use the API and write their own Admin Tool. ( And some people have done that in various forms/degrees. Look at what people like http://www.abydos-workflow.com/ have done with their Abydos Designer product. Look at what ARSDocs does for the community... and there are many other tools/companies that are in wide use in the community too.) If BMC was to adopt that approach then we just might see an "open sourced ARS IDE" some day. We could share in the full development/improvement of the clients (AdminTool, Mid-tier, Import Tool, Alert Tool) and BMC would be focused on the framework, in the form of the Server and the API. Maybe someday, but I really doubt 7.5 will be that day. (But here is to the future.... May it bring prosperity to all, and well defined business driven requirements too. :) -- Carey Matthew Black Remedy Skilled Professional (RSP) ARS = Action Request System(Remedy) Love, then teach Solution = People + Process + Tools Fast, Accurate, Cheap....
