What do you want to connect to? The LDAP directory (MS, Novel)?
I do not know too much details about the Croom plugin but from what I had heard OR from what I remember, it catered more to cross database connects. For eg you could connect to a SQL database from Oracle or a Oracle database from SQL. I do not think they could connect to active directories but then I may be wrong as I haven't used this product. If you want to connect to an LDAP directory, the built in AREA and ARDBC plugin should be more than enough and you do not need any other third party product in order to do that. You can view all the data in your LDAP directory using ARDBC after you correctly configure the same and build the necessary vendor forms.
