In my experience this error may not have _anything_ to do with permissions. It's still a catch-all error. Things to verify:
1) Is ORACLE_HOME set to the correct value in the shell you're running the installer in? 2) Is $ORACLE_HOME/lib included in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable? 3) Is $ORACLE_HOME/bin included in your PATH variable? Next, you'll have to make sure that you have a tnsnames.ora file configured for your database that Remedy can use to be able to connect to it. It seems I may have had to look at a couple other things when I was seeing this error (I can't recall any more), but at no time did it have anything to do with permissions... There is one entry in BMCDN that mentions the installer warning text, but it appears to be a case where the database and the ARSystem are on two different machines and was resolved by installing 32 bit client libraries Where can I find exactly which permissions are required by what account and/or file to address this error?
