I had the 7.5 clients installed on 64 bit vista, and just recently upgraded to Windows 7 without a problem. I've not tried a clean install though.

For users on 64-bit desktop operating systems, BMC supports using a supported browser and utilizing the web client. It may work for you on 64-bit operating systems - I'm not saying it doesn't. Just pointing out it is unsupported as per the compatibility matrix. Also note that Windows 7 is only supported on AR System 7.5.00.
