I did a Meta-Update script for a customer that had 12000 assets in ComputerSystem class that were not computer systems but should have been in a bunch of different classes including some of their own classes. They had these assets for a year and they had been worked in that changes, people, tickets etc were all associated. A single Meta-Update script read a controlling spreadsheet and then fixed the product catalogue and replicated the assets, and all relationships, associations, contracts, maintenance, etc, to the right classes. A second script deleted the original erroneous computer systems. If you have a single asset, by all means do it by hand. If you need to automate it consider Meta-Update. Cheers Ben Chernys

Based on your answer, there are several paths of complication that you must go through to achieve this.. especially if you want automation. Tauf Chowdhury | Forest Laboratories, Inc. How do I move the asset into the CHASSIS CLASS? I tried to select the Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 - and of course that is not going to work because it only gives PRINTER CLASS values. There must be a way to redefine this asset as a CHASSIS. _____ This e-mail and its attachments may contain Forest Laboratories, Inc. proprietary information that is privileged, confidential or subject to copyright belonging to Forest Laboratories, Inc.
