My notes indicate that we modified all 80 or 81 of the System Default records in NTE:CFG-Notification Events from Alert to Email when we set up our ITSM 7.0 system (minus Asset) years ago. ITSM 7.6.00 and 7.6.03 will have a few more than that (116; 122) with Asset and SRM, but I have done the same thing to those systems as well when testing. Our notification defaults have always been Email, with Alert as a very rare exception (support staff only). As Roger said, search for all of them and then do a Modify All on the Remedy Notification Method.

Short of making changes to ITSM objects, there appears to be no way to change the system default notification profiles from alert to email. Each new user account we create we must define a new set of personal notification profiles that will alert them by email rather than alert. I've searched the docs and ITSM configuration and I have not been able to find a setting for this. Can someone give me a tip on where to configure ITSM so that when a new user account (people record) is created their notifications will default to email and not alert?
