I think the reason that this works is that the full 11g client creates a soft
link from the libclntsh.so.10.1 file to libclntsh.so.11.1. If you do this for
the Instant Client it may work. Interestingly the compatibility matrix for
7.6.03 says that the Oracle 11g client is required but the server is compiled
using the 10g files. I'm going to check this internally and will let you know.

Hi,

I have done two successful installations of ARS 7.6.03 on RHEL 5.4 (x86_64)
using the Oracle 11gR2 (x86_64) (11.2.0.2.0 and 11.2.0.1.0). I have used the
full client, not the instant client, but it should work...

At the end of the installation of the Oracle client, did you generate the
client libraries according to the recommended post installation tasks?

Cordialement,

ARS 7.6.03 requires the Oracle 10g client. If you do an ldd arserverd you can
see the files required - libclntsh.so.10.1.

I'm trying ARS 7.6.0.3 install on RHEL 5 with Oracle 11gR2 client. I followed
the steps on KBM-K000000025578 (sort of), but no luck. After specifying DB
HOME, The suite installer says "AR System does not support the version of the
database client...."

What's the trick?
