Vincent, the post-install task you talk about, is that for instant client,
or full client? The instant client here was installed as a package (rpm) by
system folks, so no idea. It was however working ok, when I tried manual
connections. The full client, I installed myself, as non-root and had to do a
few postinstall tasks as root.

What kinds of steps are we talking? Creating sym links for libraries?

Hi,

I have done two successful installations of ARS 7.6.03 on RHEL 5.4 (x86_64)
using the Oracle 11gR2 (x86_64) (11.2.0.2.0 and 11.2.0.1.0). I have used the
full client, not the instant client, but it should work...

At the end of the installation of the Oracle client, did you generate the
client libraries according to the recommended post installation tasks?

Cordialement,

ARS 7.6.03 requires the Oracle 10g client.   If you do an ldd arserverd you can
see the files required - libclntsh.so.10.1.

I'm trying ARS 7.6.0.3 install on RHEL 5 with Oracle 11gR2 client. I followed
the steps on KBM-K000000025578 (sort of), but no luck. After specifying DB
HOME, The suite installer says "AR System does not support the version of the
database client...."

What's the trick?
