I had to run the upgrade from ARS7.1 to 7.5.x by installing in pause
mode and replacing the arserver.exe with a hotfix arserver.exe from BMC.
Also had to run the ITSM (upgrading 7.1 to 7.6p2) installer in pause
mode and hack some arx files with data that BMC provided.

CMDB upgrade from 2.1 to 7.6p1 had to run in pause mode and then run a
hotfix patch from BMC.

It took over three months of troubleshooting with BMC to get the above
solutions. Hopefully you can get this resolved quicker.

Sorry, but I do not have the issue no. right away. Will try and get
that. The issue with the ITSM installer is that the def files and arx
files do not get imported during the upgrade. The upgrade that I
performed took about 40 hours and finally failed. It was very annoying
to learn that BMC knew it was an issue and still did not publish it.

I want to know if anyone has been able to find a work around for
performing the upgrade.

Hi,

could you better describe your issue?

We are on ARS 6.01 and are planning to go either to ARS 7.5 first then
upgrade to ITSM 7.6 or go straight forward to ITSM 7.6

Thanks

Hi Listers,
Just wondering if anybody was able to upgrade ITSM from 7.5 to 7.6.03. I
had an issue while performing the upgrade. I raised it with BMC and they
say it is a known issue and does not have a ready work around. So just
wanted to know if anybody has really been able to upgrade.
