Here is an aremail.bat and command line text that actually worked (just went through the same headache in Jan). It took a lot of tweaking to get it to finally run correctly. You will of course have to modify the directory paths. I also deleted the aremail entries out of the registry before this worked, not sure if it is needed but you might try if running the command doesn't install.
rem Example Usage : armaild.bat install "D:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_22\bin\client\jvm.dll" "D:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\AREmaild" NTREMAQA if "install" == "install" goto install if "%1" == "uninstall" goto uninstall :install "d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\AREmaild" -install "BMC Remedy Email Engine - NTREMAQA" d:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_22\bin\client\jvm.dll -Djava.library.path="d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail" -Djava.class.path="d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\emaildaemon.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\commons-configuration-1.3.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\commons-beanutils.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\commons-collections-3.2.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\commons-digester-1.7.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\commons-lang-2.2.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\icu4j.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\spring.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\commons-logging-1.1.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\commons-codec-1.3.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\Logger.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\log4j-1.2.14.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\arapi75.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\arutil75.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\arrpc75.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\oncrpc.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\arcmn75.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\activation.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\mail.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\imap.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\smtp.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\pop3.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\armapi75.jar;d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail;." -start com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.EmailDaemon -out "d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\logs\stdout.log" -err "d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\logs\stderr.log" -current d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail goto eof :uninstall "d:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail\AREmaild" -uninstall "BMC Remedy Email Engine - NTREMAQA" goto eof :eof CMD statement : armaild.bat install "D:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_22\bin\client\jvm.dll" "D:\Program Files\AR System\AREmail" NTREMAQA From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Sharon Menachem Sent: Sunday, February 20, 2011 1:55 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: No Email Service on Installation ** ~f3 resolves to the directory where aremail is installed. Chris, I have been on the phone with someone from BMC for the past 2 hours among other trying to get the service created manually but it just isn't working. Right now email is running using emailstart.bat and with Outlook open it even manages to parse the emails into the system. I'll wait and see what 2nd level support has to offer. I have installed and reinstalled over and over and no matter what I do the email service is not installed. The email engine itself is installed as I can send out an email from remedy. However without the service I don't have incoming email. I have tried to create a service using the armaild.bat but all it does is run lines and lines of code and it does nothing.
