Sorry you are correct on the BCA - CDI - AIE side, Verses the ADDM - syncronization side.. But the CMDB is mapped differently between V7.5 and 7.1 Additional classes were added and modified.
So it might work.. never tried.. but I know BMC says no.. have fun...
