Does anyone know why the BPCU inserts bizarre square box characters into
expressions in filters and active links that include single spaces " " or
double spaces " " in the concatenations? I do not see these on the ARS 7.1
reference server, nor on the 7.6.04 clean install server, nor on any of the
other servers except where BPCU ran. I do not use Unicode anywhere, but is the
BPCU assuming Unicode in some of its string handling??

The objects that show this after BPCU are usually erroneously overlaid anyway,
so I can delete them and refresh them from Reference, but it is one more item
of confusion when inspecting the results of the BPCU run. Examples:

Active Links:

EIE:DE-AddTimeofDay02

EIE:DE-RemoveTimeofDay

Filters:

CFG:DBH:ConcatHolidays_710_SetField

PBM:LPB:SetProblemLocationSiteInfo

In some cases the 7.6.04 objects are different in other ways as well, so the
BGCU results can be abandoned.

Below mentioned Exception is thrown by AR Java API.

We get this exception in 703 version. Reason is - somehow definition format for
some of the (4~5) diary fields is incorrect.
Below mentioned APIs returns list of fields correctly but at the same time
generates the error log we see.

        at com.bmc.arsys.api.ProxyJRpc.ARGetMultipleFields(Unknown Source)

        at com.bmc.arsys.api.ProxyJRpc.ARGetListFieldObjects(Unknown Source)

        at com.bmc.arsys.api.ARServerUser.getListFieldObjects(Unknown Source)

These Errors seen the log can be safely ignored while running BPCU.

Regards,
Vikram

I asked support about this very similar error on 25 February. They have not
responded - to that or any other question that I have asked. For all intents
and purposes, the BPCU is an unsupported application right now.

I saw several of these errors every time I ran the BPCU:

Hopefully, it doesn't make the output invalid.

It might be just like all of the Flashboard plugin not found errors that
mid-tiers throw - a benign error that you can ignore, or so they tell me.

Hello All,

When I run the BPCU (in Overlay Mode) utility against an ITSM 7.0.3
environment, it gives the following error messages; The BPCU version is "Best

Is there a way to identify which fields are having a problem? I checked the
output report, however could not find any reference of the Diary field in
question..
Many Thanks in Advance,
