Christopher,

The automatic generation of this record is internal to the Remedy User Tool API, after logging into the server using a preference server. To adjust these preferences, the user needs to use the Tools --> Options menu..

The second way it is set is my guess.. When there is a preference server configured for the web, and the user logs into the Mid-Tier for the first time, this record gets created with defaults..

For a new user that is created, you will notice that this record is not created until the user logs into the user tool with a legal/correct preference server defined at login, or if he logs in into the mid-tier and that has a preference server defined..

You will not find AR System workflow code to the best of my knowledge that does this..

Cheers

Joe

Subject: AR System User Preference form

Hey Listers,

I am banging my head against the wall trying to figure this one out. There is a form called AR System User Preference. I know it holds the user preferences, not the issue. We are trying to figure out how user records are created on that form. We are a total custom development with no BMC Remedy out of the Box apps and it is stumping us.

We have a lot of users on there that are active in the system and a lot that don't even exist on our server any more. Any ideas on how these records get generated? We have searched and searched the BMC code and can't find any reference in any workflow that does a create or modify of these records, yet it happens but we just don't know how it does it and the best part it does not do it for all users, just some of them.
