Hope this helps. It depends on how you want to do it and how efficient
it is for YOUR process.

Option 1: Use Abydos Designer (3rd party tool where you can create a
process that gathers info from the end user and creates a Change Request
with the exact fields you want and variables filled out without creating
AOT's, PDT's. This is by far the easiest.

Option 2: This to me is easiest OOB way to do it. Now with conditions
and query menus, one SRD can be used to map to different prod cats.

1. Create a Change template (or you don't have to) which has
certain fields prepopulated so you don't have to always map it from the
SRD. You may have custom fields that are just easier to map using the
Change template without having to expose fields to SRM.

2. Create an AOT to link the Change template or don't use a
template. If you don't see the available fields OOB for Change, you may
need to add these. (There's a field mapping section in App Admin Console
> SRM Section... )

3. Create PDT and map the variables to the fields exposed in the
AOT

4. Create SRD with questions and in the menu dropdowns, have the
user displayed value and make sure the stored value matches with what
your product cat tiers are.

5. When mapping the questions to the variables, use the stored
value and not the user displayed value on the questions that reflect
your product categorization choices.

Option 3 (This to me is the least efficient way to do it):

1. Create multiple Change templates with different product
categorizations in each one.

2. Create individual AOT's that map back to each Change Template

3. Create individual PDT's for each AOT, OR have a variable in the
PDT in which depending on the answer to a question on the SRD, a
different AOT gets activated.

**

Hello all,

How would I get an SRD question to dictate an operational or product
categorization on a Change Template? For instance, I would like a
question on the SRD to be mapped to the prodcat and the answer to that
question would dictate the prodcat which would in-turn help dictate the
template used. We would have several templates setup that reflect the
different prodcat choices. We would like to have everything go off of
templates.

I am having difficulty because the questions map to the Service Request
form, I thought they mapped to the Change Infrastructure Change request
form or the Change Template form. As you can see, my logic was a little
off.

Hopefully, you all can help me get back on track. Any help or advice
would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
