Ø I'd probably get fired if I used something called "BMC Mobility for XXX"

Think of its use on jugs of moonshine rather than pornography, and perhaps
that'll go over better. ;-)

David,

I'd probably get fired if I used something called "BMC Mobility for XXX" in my
place of employment, as we are a family-friendly business.

Instead, since we're all Remedy folks here, you could use a variable name in
the Remedy form, something like $ApplicationName$ would seem less inappropriate.

Thanks,

FYI, if you're really interested, "BMC Mobility" is the over-arching name to be
used across BMC. However, since this acquisition is targeted specifically at
the Remedy ITSM Suite, a modifier needed to be put in place to indicate it's
associated with Remedy. Thus it is "BMC Mobility for XXX" where XXX is, in
this case, IT Service Management (or ITSM).

When other mobility solutions are introduced, they'd be associated with their
own areas - i.e. the XXX would be the other Suite(s) within BMC.

I'm surprised it isn't BMC Remedy ITSM Mobility
BMCRITSMM

I'm sure everyone will shorten it to BMC Mobility and expect a motorized blue
wheelchair.

I know it isn't Friday, but now that BMC has renamed everything over the past
few months ........ Thursday, the new Friday.

That being said, an acquisition that makes a lot of sense.

What? What's wrong with BMCMITSM? It rolls right off the tongue.

How does BMC manage to slaughter the names of the products it acquires so
thoroughly? "Aeroprise" was good. It was pronounceable. It was memorable.
"BMC Mobility for IT Service Management" is forgettable garble.
