There are multiple ways that customers gain access to the resources within
Remedy OnDemand and your BMC representative can work with you to tailor the
offering to your needs. VPN is a common way to create a secure link between a
customer datacenter and resources within the Remedy OnDemand service, yes.
However, depending on your business needs, you may find it easiest to use the
reporting services within Remedy OnDemand exclusively and not have to create a
connection at all between your datacenter and the service to run reports.

Subject: Re: Remedy on Demand question

** Thanks David, how would I access that reporting server from my network?
VPN access and then ODBC, secure ODBC, etc? What is the method of
connectivity I would have to access the data for querying at the reporting
server database level?

thanks,

David

Hi David,

Remedy OnDemand has an option where you can set up an additional reporting
server to run reports from, for example, BMC Analytics (as a service). Best to
contact your BMC sales representative for information on the best configuration
option for your business needs.

Subject: Remedy on Demand question

** Does Remedy on Demand provide an ODBC connection to the underlying database?
That be used to run a query for example in Crystal Reports on-site. If not
how have other users accomplished custom reporting? Is there an easy way to
export information and build a reporting datamart?

thanks
